John Draper, Head at Swaythling Primary raises funds for City Catering

John Draper, Head teacher at Swaythling Primary School takes part in My Ride London to raise funds for City Catering Southampton! Our amazing supporter completed his #MyPRL challenge in the pouring rain and raised a total of £155.00 (to date), for the charity.

The Prudential My Ride London has become the world’s greatest festival of cycling and has raised much-needed funds for charities across the UK.

John Draper explains, “I'm riding 100 miles round the New Forest to raise money for City Catering, Southampton. City Catering provide our school meals at Swaythling Primary school, and they are delicious, nutritious and served with great love and care.

Equally importantly, for the last year, City Catering have worked with other partner groups to help fight holiday hunger- inviting families into our school for a freshly cooked meal, and providing recipe cards and grocery bags so the same meals can be cooked at home and enjoyed all over again.”

City Catering is immensely proud of John for completing his challenge despite of the miserable weather. John said "Weather wasn't great (spent a while in a bus shelter in Milford-on-Sea and didn't actually manage to see the Isle of Wight), but kept going.” This didn’t stop John and he completed the #MyPRL challenge on Saturday 15 Aug 2020. A massive well done to John!

The money raised will help us to support low-income families across Southampton during the school holidays by providing them with nutritious grocery bags.

If you would like to support John's challenge, his JustGiving page is still open for any last minute donations: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/JohnDraper8
